O facto de existirem solos xistosos, solos calcários e a ribeira tem contribuído para uma vasta variedade de espécies de plantas, constituída por sobreiros e azinheiras ou por alfarrobeiras e aroeiras, medronheiros, nesta Paisagem Protegida existem mais
300 espécies diferentes, e além da flora, existem também, mais de 100 espécies
de aves que fazem os seus ninhos nas encostas do vale e nas margens da ribeira.
Neste local podemos observar o Guarda Rios, Abelharuco e a Águia de Bonelli.
No meio aquático, também fértil em espécies animais, existente neste sítio classificado, como o mais importante animal, a lontra, que raramente se avista. Nas cavernas que decorem o local, sobressaem duas colónias de morcegos que gozam o estatuto de espécie protegida.

This traditional farmhouse is a unique and wonderful house, situated in the
wilderness of the Ribeira de Menalva Valley; Fonte Benémola constitutes one of
the freshwater sources of the Querença-Silves aquifer system.
It’s a unique opportunity to

Located in Vale Mulher, - the Woman’s Valley - Fonte Benémola is part of
a protected area with unique characteristics of rare beauty in the Algarve
barrocal. The valley is home to biotopes both from a geological and landscape
point of view, as well as in terms of fauna and flora.
The fact that there are schist soils, limestone soils and an actual
river, contributes to a wide variety of plant species, consisting of cork oaks
and holm oaks, carob and mastic trees, strawberry and olive trees. In this
Protected Landscape there are over 300 different species of plants, and in
addition to the flora, there are also more than 100 species of birds that nest
on the slopes of the valley and on the banks of the river.
In this place we can even observe the River Guard, Bee-eater and
Bonelli's Eagle!
The aquatic environment is also fertile in animal species, this site is
classified as the most important animal, the otter, which is rarely seen. In
the caves that decorate the site, two colonies of bats stand out and enjoy the
status of protected species.
